Mount Kenya national park: is an imposing extinct volcano dominating the landscape of the Kenyan Highlands, East of the Rift Valley. The mountains slopes are cloaked in forest, bamboo, scrub and moorland giving way on the high central peaks to rock, ice and snow. Mt Kenya Safari club is perched on the slopes of Africa’s second highest mountain, The club straddles the Equator with a battery of luxurious cottages and elegant buildings with magnificent views all around.
Mount Kenya Safari club has a total of 144 rooms, comprising two villas, 13 riverside and 12 William Holden cottages, eight garden suites and clubrooms and studio suites. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower, telephone and log fireplace. The luxury villas, William Holden cottages and the presidential suite each have a large sitting room. Most rooms also have a private veranda overlooking the majestic Mount Kenya.
There are two restaurants, the Mawingo and the Kirinyaga. There are also two bars, the Zebra Bar and the Trophy Lounge that has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is the ideal setting for cocktail parties. The Club has a heated swimming pool, beauty parlour and sauna.
