The Mudanda Rock is a 1.6 km inselberg of stratified rock that acts as a water catchment that supplies a natural dam below.

It offers an excellent vantage point for the hundreds of elephants and other wildlife that come to drink during the dry season.

All points of interest in Tsavo East national park are easily accessed from this camp.

It is located at the plains between Manyani Gate and Voi. It is an excellent vantage point from which to survey the waters of the natural dam that lies at its foot and potently draws to it many hundreds of wallowing elephant, buffalo and other planes game.

This area is a favorite leopard hunting ground, although daytime sightings are rare.
